While Honda is known as a maker of stylish and fuel efficient cars, it also has a storied history in racing. That's why whenever a performance show (such as SEMA, for example) comes along, we usually get a look at sportified variants of the models we offer in our showroom.
In some cases, Honda even offers these cars to drivers, such as the Civic Type R, a coupe-racer that exudes both the style that the automaker is known for, and performance. In recent months, we've been getting reports that the 2015 model's reveal is getting close, and that a near-production "concept" will bow at the Geneva Motor Show.
More recently, automotive insiders have given us a look at just what the Civic Type R "Concept" will look like, and we have to say, it knocked our socks off.
Building on the popular Civic's looks, the racing variant offers an even smoother feel, a rounded, coupe-like roofline and an extra-sporty rear spoiler. As this is a more racing-geared variant, the standard engine has been replaced with a 2.0L turbocharged mill that rumors state could deliver somewhere around 300hp.
We'll give you more details about the Civic Type R Concept, as well as the other cars Honda's bringing to Geneva in future blog posts.
In the meantime, if there's a new Honda auto on your mind, we'd like to take the time to get you acquainted. Drop by our showroom right here in Mckinney, TX, and we'll get the ball rolling on your buying process.
